Training and acting for the defence of women’s rights and for the strengthening of civil society
The FAM project was run by AEDH between 2010 and 2012 by AEDH in partnership with three Mauritanian NGOs :
Aims of the project
The aim of this project was to contribute to improving respect for the fundamental rights of Mauritanian women :
- by strengthening the local NGOs defending women’s rights ;
- promoting the recognition of women’s rights through campaigns, debates, training, advocacy and the creation of a counselling centre for women victims, and for spreading information in the countryside ;
- supporting human rights defenders and leaders of Civil Society through the spread of information, advocacy at the international level and the establishment of early warning and protection systems.
