Supporting the actors on the ground

financement projets association terrain partenaires

AEDH works to strengthen NGOs fighting for the defence and the promotion of Human Rights and the rule of law.

AEDH’s partners are working on the most fundamental rights. They :

  • deal with the worst abuses: torture, arbitrary arrest, rape, human trafficking,
  • defend the rights of the most vulnerable, whether they are prisoners, ethnic minorities, LGBT…
  • promote respect for women’s and children’s rights,
  • fight impunity,
  • strengthen the rule of law.

We support small and growing organisations that have difficulty getting access to international finance.

AEDH’s links are strong and lasting, and respect partners’ methods. Our criteria for support are the relevance of the projects proposed, the trustworthiness of the partners carrying them out and their ability to manage them effectively.

Our support which may be technical, financial or through support in their approach to national and international organisations takes several forms:

Support for small organisations

Each year we make small grants to fifteen or so organisations in Africa, Latin America, Asia, Eastern Europe and the Middle East. Since 2002 AEDH has made grants totalling more than a million euros to support Human Rights NGOs worldwide.

In 2015, we have supported:
